Quick Cuban Sandwich

Meal #11:

Dad brought leftover roast pork so we could make my favorite sandwich...The Cuban!  Pork, ham, Swiss, pickles and yellow mustard...what else could you want in a hearty, tasty sandwich?  (I didn't grill the sandwich, which is traditionally done to get the bread crisp and the cheese nice and gooey but it was delicioso nonetheless!)

Ingredients:

  • Thinly sliced leftover roast pork
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Ham
  • Supermarket (soft)  French Bread
  • Pickles
  • Yellow Mustard
Directions:

  1. Heat toaster oven to 350 and warm the roast pork on aluminum foil for about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Remove the pork and put the bread (sliced open, but still attached at the seam) in the toaster with Swiss cheese covering each side.
  3. When the cheese is melted, remove the bread and assemble the Cuban.
  4. Place the roast pork, ham, pickle and a generous squirt of yellow mustard on the melted cheese bread.  Close, slice and enjoy!
